Overnight an apple tree was secretly planted in a construction site. The local newspaper reported on the event "Construction workers returned to work this morning to a building site at Sokolovska Street. Here they discovered, in a ditch they had dug the day before, a small fully grown tree covered with green apples. 'We can’t understand how the tree appeared here!'".

Matka příroda se postarala o malý zázrak. Stavební dělníci, kteří se ráno vrátili na staveniště na Sokolovské ulici, našli v příkopě, který den předtím vykopali, malou jabloň i s jablky. „Vůbec nechápeme, kde se tady ten stromek vzal a ještě s jablky!“ říká jeden z dělníků. „A jsou moc dobrá.“dodává druhý s úsměvem. „Někdo si z nás asi chtěl vystřelit.“ Uvažuje další. Nečekaná přítomnost ovocného stromku, který i s jablky přibyl do klasického stavebního ruchu, pobavila i kolemjdoucí. „Nejde si toho nevšimnout.“ směje se mladá maminka. „Je to takový malý zázrak.“ Co asi bylo záměrem neznámého sadaře, který přenesl jabloň z jejího přirozeného prostředí a umístil ji tam, kam nepatří a kde by pravděpodobně nemohla zplodit ani jablíčko? „Asi je to nějaká provokace.“ myslí si majitel herny, před níž se stromek objevil. „Nějaký ekologický protest, řekl bych.“ „Vnímám to trochu jako výzvu k zamyšlení…“ uvažuje mladá žena, „… všude se staví, betonuje, je málo prostoru pro život jako takový.“ Co nám chtěl neznámý opravdu naznačit, se pravděpodobně nedovíme. Jisté ale je, že jablůňka na chvíli změnila zaběhnutý každodenní rytmus města.

"The apples are very tasty" added another, smiling. "Someone must be trying to pull our leg" speculated another one. The unexpected presence of the fruit tree covered with apples disturbed the usual construction activities, while confusing and amusing the passers-by. "You can’t miss it" laughed a young mother. "It’s a sort of little miracle." What could have been the intention of the mysterious planter who removed the apple tree from its natural environment and put it in a place where it does not belong? And in this setting it is very unlikely to bear a single apple? "It must be a sort of provocation", suggested the owner of the gambling club in front of which the tree appeared. "Some kind of ecological protest, I would say." "I see it a bit like an appeal to take a moment to think…” said a young woman, "…all around us there is construction in progress, concrete being laid, and very little space remains for life itself." What the stranger really wanted to hint at shall remain unknown. But it is for sure that this little apple tree changed, for a little while, the routine, and everyday city rhythm.
